When I’m online, I notice how carefully I choose my words. I type, delete, and rewrite before I ever press send. The screen gives me time to think, to soften what I’m feeling, to decide how much of myself I’m willing to show.
Sometimes, I communicate without really speaking at all. I scroll. I like. I save things that feel like they understand me. I share quotes or posts that say what I can’t quite put into my own words, hoping they’ll speak for me without needing an explanation.
What I say online is often honest but controlled. It’s a version of me that feels safer, less exposed, less interruptible. I can be real without being overwhelmed, present without being fully seen.
Maybe this is just how I’ve learned to exist in digital spaces. Not loud, not hidden, just enough. Enough to connect, enough to be understood, and enough to protect myself at the same time.
