I’d choose to be a disciple.
Not because it’s easy, but because there’s something honest about it. A disciple isn’t perfect. He’s not the one with all the answers. He’s the one who walks closely, learns slowly, fails often, and still stays.
That kind of life feels real to me.
There’s humility in following. In admitting you don’t know everything. In choosing to sit, listen, and be shaped instead of trying to lead before you’re ready.
I think a lot of people want control. They want to be the main character, the one who knows, the one who directs everything. But I’ve learned there’s something powerful in being teachable.
To walk righteously, to learn the ways, to fail and still be called forward that’s a different kind of strength. Not loud, not impressive to everyone, but steady.
Because being a disciple means you’re allowed to grow. You’re allowed to get it wrong sometimes. To misunderstand. To struggle with doubt. But you don’t walk away you stay close, you learn, you change.
And maybe that’s what I want, not a flawless life, not a life where I always get it right.
But a life where I’m being shaped into something better. Because at the end of the day, I don’t need to be the one who has it all together. I just need to be someone willing to follow, to learn, and to become.
